Vimala and Neel are a powerhouse duo hailing from Chennai, South India. Well traveled, and with a shared love for quality homemade food, they wished to bring the joy they felt when cooking a hearty meal to everyone.

Vimala pursued her culinary dreams during te pandemic - She took a leap of faith and earned her diplomas in Baking and Pastry making from Le Cordon Bleu, Ottawa and later from the Niagara College, St. Catharines. With over 30 years of experience in preparing Indian vegetarian cuisine, she wished to marry the comforting, rich tastes in Indian cuisine with the subtleness in french, english, and Italian pastries. She hopes to make The Desi Blend a space that is a mosaic of flavours!
